Galaxy S27 Ultra Rumors: Razor-Thin 1.21mm Bezels, But That Camera Bump? Still a Cliff

Galaxy S27 Ultra Rumors: Razor-Thin 1.21mm Bezels, But That Camera Bump? Still a Cliff

Alright, gather 'round Samsung fans — the Galaxy S27 Ultra leak season is officially heating up. Ice Universe (you know, the leaker who's basically got a permanent seat on Samsung's engineering team's shoulder) dropped a spicy tweet yesterday with some seriously nitty-gritty measurements. We're talking bezel thickness and camera bump numbers down to the hundredth of a millimeter. Geeky? Absolutely. Interesting? You bet.

The First Numbers

Here's what Ice Universe initially put out there: the Galaxy S27 Ultra will rock 1.28mm bezels with a 4.69mm camera bump. In plain English — the screen borders are getting ridiculously thin, but the camera module is still sticking out like a tiny mountain range on the back. Progress on one side, a chunky photo bump on the other. Classic modern smartphone stuff.

How Does That Stack Up Against the S26 Ultra?

For context, the current Galaxy S26 Ultra is about 7.9mm thick on its own. Add the camera bump and you're looking at roughly 12.33mm total, which puts the bump at about 4.4mm. So if the leaks hold up, the S27 Ultra's bump is growing just a smidge.

The bezel situation is where things get a little... messy. Notebookcheck says the S26 Ultra has 1.68mm bezels, meaning the S27 Ultra would shave off about 0.4mm. But some other sources swear the S26 Ultra's bezels are actually 1.15mm. So yeah, the numbers don't totally agree — welcome to the wonderful world of pre-launch leaks, folks.

The Leaker Wars Get Spicy

Then @alfawien jumped into the conversation and pointed out that Ice Universe's numbers didn't quite line up with earlier leaks from OnLeaks. OnLeaks had said the phone measures 12.53mm thick including the camera bump — subtract the 7.97mm body and you'd get a 4.56mm bump. Math fights between leakers. Love to see it.

But here's the plot twist: OnLeaks himself came back and clarified — the camera bump is actually 4.64mm. And with that correction, here's the most up-to-date picture of the Galaxy S27 Ultra:

  • Body thickness: 7.97mm
  • Total thickness (with camera bump): 12.61mm
  • Camera bump: 4.64mm
  • Bezel: 1.21mm

The Bottom Line

If these numbers hold, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is going to look absolutely stunning from the front — 1.21mm bezels is basically "all screen all the time" territory. Flip it over though, and that camera bump is still living its best life. But hey, that's the trade-off for packing in bigger sensors and better zoom. Samsung clearly isn't sacrificing camera hardware for thinness, and honestly? Most people slap a case on it anyway. Stay tuned — with this many leaks flying around, the official unveiling can't be far off.
