Xiaomi's bet on a smaller, more pocketable foldable appears to be paying off — at least in China.
According to tipster @RD观测, the Xiaomi 18 Fold had moved roughly 104,700 units by the end of week 40 of 2026 (September 28 – October 4). That's a solid early showing for Xiaomi's first "mid-fold" device, and it lines up with what Xiaomi China President Lu Weibing said at the September 23 launch event: first-sale retail volume was up 300% compared to the previous generation of Xiaomi's large foldable.
The Spec Sheet: A Flagship in a Smaller Frame
The Xiaomi 18 Fold launched on September 7, and it's not holding back on hardware.
XRING O3: Xiaomi's In-House Silicon
At the heart of the phone is the XRING O3 , Xiaomi's second fully self-developed flagship chip. Built on a 3nm process , it packs a 10-core all-big-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of 4.35GHz . Xiaomi claims 60% higher multi-core performance and 25% lower power consumption at mid-to-low loads compared to the previous generation.
The GPU is a 16-core G2-Ultra NX , which Xiaomi says delivers an 85% jump in graphics performance while cutting power consumption by 64% . There's also a 4-core NPU rated at 200 TOPS of tensor computation.
On benchmarks, Xiaomi is claiming an AnTuTu score of 5.22 million — the first mobile flagship to break the 5 million mark, according to the company.

Displays: 5.38-Inch Cover, 7.58-Inch Inner
The 18 Fold uses a 5.38-inch outer display and a 7.58-inch inner panel , both AMOLED with 1.5K resolution and a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate . Peak brightness hits 4,000 nits , and the inner screen uses a √2:1 aspect ratio designed to feel closer to a sheet of paper for reading and split-screen work.
The inner display is protected by dual-layer UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) , and Xiaomi claims a 258% improvement in impact resistance , with drop protection rated up to 1.2 meters .
Leica Triple Camera: 200MP Main
Xiaomi is leaning hard into its Leica partnership. The rear setup is a Leica-branded triple-camera system :
| Camera | Spec |
|---|---|
| Main | 200MP, 1/1.56-inch HP5 sensor, f/1.7, OIS |
| Periscope telephoto | 50MP, 3.5x optical zoom, 80mm focal length, OIS |
| Ultrawide | 50MP |
The periscope lens supports in-sensor zoom extending to 160mm . Xiaomi is also pushing foldable-specific shooting modes like closed-shutter capture with open-screen preview .
Battery and Charging
Inside is a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 20% silicon content and an energy density of 920Wh/L . Charging is rated at 67W wired and 50W wireless , plus 7.5W reverse wireless charging .
Build and Durability
The 18 Fold measures 5.02mm unfolded and 10.68mm folded , and weighs 219g — lighter than Xiaomi's previous foldables. The frame is 7000-series aluminum , with Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 on the exterior and a new three-link hinge (dragon-bone hinge) inside. It carries an IP58 rating for dust and water resistance.
